    The call for the request for funding from ISAP is now open.

    As part of the mission and commitment of ISAP to promote and contribute to the education of a young generation of scientists and engineers dealing with Algal Biotechnology the society has decided to allocate funds annually to support training courses in algal biotechnology.

    We are pleased to announce a one week International Phycological Training Workshop that will be held in person, in Pakistan, with the aid of aid of funding from the International Society of Applied Phycology (ISAP).

    The Algal Ecology and Biotechnology Training  is being organised by Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen Butt from the Institute of Botany, University of the Punjab Qaid-i-Azam Camus, Lahore, Pakistan.

    Two Bids were submitted for the 2024 conference. 

    - Porto, Portugal
    - Cork, Ireland
    After presenting the  bids to the ISAP executive committee, a vote was taken and the successful party was PORTO, PORTUGAL. 

    The conference will be held 18-22 June 2024 and it is being planned as an hybrid event.

    CCAP Online Training Course

     

    With continuing Covid19 constraints, the annual CCAP CPD course will be delived online, via MS Teams. The course is aimed at students, technicians, early career researchers, industry professionals and algae enthusiasts. You are invited to register for this unique course comprising:

     

    Short lectures from our SAMS experts and External speakers on:

    Algal Biodiversity & Taxonomy

    Nutrition

    Photosynthesis

    Microalgae Biotechnology: Opportunities and Challenges

    Molecular Phycology and Bioinformatics

    Large scale microalgal culture

    Metabolomics

     

    Practical Demonstrations by our technical experts on:

    Growth media preparation

    Strain Isolation

    Sub-culturing

    Enumeration

    Cryopreservation

    CCAP’s algal scale up facility (CCAP-ARIES)

    Opportunities for discussion, questions and networking will be timetabled.

     

    This training is being financially supported by the British Phycological Society (BPS) and Algae-UK, however, a fee of £50 to cover costs will be charged.
