Training workshops

As part of the mission and commitment of ISAP to promote and contribute to the education of young generations of scientists and engineers dedicated to algal biotechnology, the society has decided to annually allocate funds to support training courses in applied phycology and algal biotechnology.

For 2021, ISAP is supported by GlobalSeaweedSTAR (a GCRF-funded project) to launch a call aimed at supporting the organization of online workshops that will contribute to the achievement of the ISAP objectives.

The workshops should address topics related to biological and engineering principles and practical and/or operational activities involved in cultivation, downstream processing and product formation of algae in general and macroalgae in particular.

At the end of the workshop, the recordings of the lectures and movies/video clips will be uploaded to the ISAP Webpage and be available for a period of 6 months.

This call is for support of a workshop to be held before October 2021.

Who can apply? Any member of the society who holds a permanent position at a research or teaching institution located in a DAC-listed country and can demonstrate experience in teaching and organization skills.

How much is available? The total support available for each workshop cannot exceed £2,000.

More information on the call can be found here. The application guidelines can be found here. Please read both documents carefully before preparing your application.

To apply, please complete this application form and submit it along with CVs and other supporting documents as PDF files by email to roberto.dephilippis@unifi.it AND GlobalSeaweedSTAR@sams.ac.uk.

Deadline for submission is 1 April 2021
